There is NO absolute truth, only facts. What works for you and your Shih Tzu, for your dog might work or might not work for others and their Shih Tzus, their dogs.
There are no impartial scientfic evidents or facts showing, that using human shampoo and conditioner for dogs, will hurt or damage the dogs skin and coat/hair/fur or causing skin and/or coat problems.
If you use a human or dog shampoo and conditioner for your dog, which are not suitble for your dog, it will cause problems, plain and simple.
How to choose the right shampoo and conditioner for you and your Shih Tzu:
Well, wheather you choose to use human or dog shampoo and conditioner for your Shih Tzu, it is a jungle - there is no absolute truth - only facts.
So if you wash your Shih Tzu in human shampoo and human conditioner and it works - well, then it works and no one should tell you otherwise, because again facts are facts.
And if you wash your Shih Tzu in dog shampoo and dog conditioner and it works - well, then it works and no one should tell you otherwise, because again facts are facts.
There will always be people, who say, that you can not use human shampoo and human conditioner for Shih Tzus and other dog breeds.
Also the companies who sell dog shampoo and conditioner will always claim, that washing your Shih Tzu in shampoo and conditioner for humans is no go, that it will give your dog skin and coat problems . But that is NOT correct!!! That is just bullshit politics and campaigning to earn more money and not facts, as you can read above on top of this page. So do not be fooled!
Just because a product contains "natural ingredients", it is not necessary a good product. It might be good, it might not be good - that depends solly wheather these ingredients work for Your Shih Tzu or not, - and not wheather the ingredients are natural or not - natural is not always or neccessarily a good thing, since not all natural ingredients can be tolerated by everybody, dog or human.
There is no such thing as organic (or ecological) dog shampoos and dog conditoners and organic human shampoos and human conditoners. They all contain water and water is not organic and can NOT be organic. Some or all of the ingredients - except water - can organic, but the product all together can NOT be organic.
Again, Just because a product contains "natural ingredients" or "organic ingridients", it is not necessarily a good product. It might be good, it might not be good - that depends solly wheather these ingredients work for Your Shih Tzu or not, - and not wheather the ingredients are natural /organic /ecological or not.
So bottom line - wheather you choose dog or human shampoo and conditioner for your Shih Tzu or other dog breed:
- Choose products that work for your Shih Tzu or other dog breed
- Only choose products with a FULL declaration / a FULL list of ingridients and pH-value on the packing / bottles.
- Choose shampoo and conditioner from the same brand and line, because the products complete each other.
- Do not be fooled by "nice campaigning", but read the facts and labels.
